Our Mission
USCMA is a community of faith leaders engaged in networking, formation, and advocacy for God’s mission.
“Together, we must look for ways to be a missionary Church, a Church that builds bridges and encourages dialogue, a Church ever open to welcoming…all those who are in need of our charity, our presence, our readiness to dialogue and our love.”
Pope Leo XVI
USCMA is dedicated to fostering community, collaboration, and lifelong learning among faith leaders committed to the global, social, and intercultural mission of Jesus. We support our members in witnessing the love of God according to their unique charisms by building community and developing partnerships, fostering spiritual growth, increasing social consciousness and intercultural competency, and inspiring mission commitment and engagement across the broader US Church.
Networking
USCMA connects leaders and ministers based on common priorities and contexts, facilitating discussion, mutual support and the sharing of resources. Our membership conferences, virtual and regional gatherings, and searchable member directory help members and partners learn, reflect and collaborate as a community of missionary disciples.
Formation
USCMA provides forward-thinking spiritual and practical formation to deepen the authenticity, relationality, and efficacy of mission practice. Our virtual and in-person programs:
- Support experienced mission leaders through continued spiritual and professional growth
- Form emerging ministers in their capacity for solidarity, mutual dialogue, and prophetic witness across social and geographical borders
- Foster mission understanding, discernment, and commitment among faith leaders in any ministerial context
Advocacy
USCMA partners with leading Catholic voices in social and economic justice, promoting the concerns of those we encounter and accompany in mission. We also provide resources for advocacy and global awareness within the US Church, share calls to action and advocacy opportunities among our member network, and develop programming to encourage and inspire broader audiences to encounter and respond in love to their neighbors at the social and economic peripheries.
