Building Our Mission Future – Letter from Our Executive Director
Dear Members, Partners, and Friends,
“What’s next!?” That was a common, enthusiastic refrain following last month’s Summit on Mission and Evangelization. Offered by USCMA in collaboration with the Society for the Propagation of the Faith in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and the International Secretariat of the Pontifical Missionary Union, the Summit joined leaders representing over 30 Catholic congregations, organizations, diocesan offices, pontifical agencies, and academic institutions in two days of reflection, learning, and communion towards forging new paths of Christian hope today.
It was a sacred moment, a time to renew our mission commitment, reexamine our global context, and refresh our approaches to living out, as I said in my introductory remarks, “those Gospel values which point towards the boundless love and compassion of Jesus Christ.”
The Summit also represented the best of what we at USCMA have to offer our members, partners, and the wider Church: opportunities to learn, pray, and build community, guided by leading and emerging voices in mission thought to discover new ways to bear and build hope in our suffering world.
In the coming weeks, we will make presentations and other materials from the Summit available online for our members to review, reflect upon, and share with your communities. Efforts like this can only continue with the generous support of you, our members and partners. If you have not contributed to our 2025 Pentecost Appeal, I humbly invite you to support our ministry to whatever extent you feel called and comfortable. Together, we will continue to build this mission movement.
I also invite you to review the exciting opportunities and updates in this month’s ENCOUNTER newsletter. As always, the USCMA staff and board are working tirelessly to provide mission leaders like you with networking, formation, and advocacy opportunities to support you in your holy endeavors and inspire the Church and world via your witness.
In mission and solidarity,
Kevin Foy
Executive Director
