We take walking for granted.
We think we walk a lot. Surfing the web, skimming emails, or flipping through channels is not walking. As James Brown says, “get up offa that thing.”
Nor is rushing. Frantically moving from one thing to the next blurs our vision, overwhelms our mind, and hardens our heart. We need to slow down to walk.
Walking is good for our health. It is essential for our spiritual life.
As we walk, we ponder what we see, seek understanding, and decide where to go next. It begins with a first step.
An Invitation for You
1) Go for a 15-minute walk. Alone. No destination. Just walk.
2) Reflect. Any surprises?
