On March 8, 2024, the board of directors approved the USCMA response ,"Through the Mission of the Son," developed as a fruit of the Synthesis Study Group Series.
Our synod synthesis study group will gather on February 29 for a conversation about a formal response based on our conversations. Please register via Zoom if you have not already participated in a study group session.
On February 22 at 2pm, the study group will focus on Part III of the synod synthesis document, paying particular care to how mission is used in sections 16, 17, and 18 and discussing how the Church listens to missionaries and adapts to the need for digital evangelization.
The fourth session on Thursday, February 15, at 2pm ET will conclude Part II, focusing on the five groups the assembly considered in living out the mission of the church. Those five groups are women; consecrated life and lay associations and movements; deacons, priests and bishops; and the Bishop of Rome.
After two meetings, the synod synthesis study group is pivoting to focus on passages that use the word "mission" or a variant. All are welcome to register and join!
We are gathering online at 2pm ET on Thursdays. Our study sessions focus on what the document says, assess meanings given to the word "mission. We're making note of agreements, concerns, and recommendations.
