A World of Mission

Pope Francis has called for peace in Gaza, Ukraine, and other places around the world. On Wednesday of Holy Week, he reached out to the Christian Community in the Holy Land recognizing their incredible witness as “lamps shining in the night.” HOLY LAND

Many missionaries in the USA have a long-lasting relationship with the people of Haiti. The universal Church is supportive of the people of Haiti and is looking for ways to accompany them as they find a path forward for their country. HAITI

Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, Archbishop of Yangon and President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Myanmar, shared an Easter message on peace in the midst of a humanitarian crisis – more than 2.6 million people have fled their homes and roughly a third of the population needs food, medical care, and other essential goods. The French Pontifical Mission Societies launched “Point Mission” at a busy street in Lourdes, to welcome pilgrims to the Marian Sanctuary, teach them what mission means in current events, and explore how everyone can be a missionary. FRANCE
