We are thrilled to invite you to the United States Catholic Mission Association 2024 Conference, "The Mission of the Eucharist: Gather, Unite, Send." This gathering, promises to be a transformative experience, offering a unique opportunity to explore the evolving understanding of "Mission" in today's Church.
Prepare to be inspired by the missionary journeys of Robert Ellsberg, Diane Huggins, and Fr. Abdon Rwandekwe, SJ. Their personal stories will undoubtedly ignite a reflection on our own missionary callings, challenging us to better serve those on the margins and in need of evangelization in our rapidly changing world.
As your facilitators, we bring over 40 years of experience as members of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit. Our missionary work in Tanzania was transformative, as we witnessed first evangelization with the Maasai people, and secured basic medications and food relief for the people of the Diocese of Arusha during the 1980’s famine. These experiences awakened our faith and deepened our commitment to the Spiritan Charism, walking with those on the margins and inspired us into leadership of the Lay Spiritan Associates program. Anne Marie's past service on the USCMA Board and John's recent election to the Board further connect us to the heart of this organization.
During the conference, we'll guide you through "Conversations in the Spirit," a process successfully used in Pope Francis' Synodal initiative. These small group discussions, centered on key questions arising from each presentation, will foster deep reflection and meaningful dialogue.
Our goal is to ensure you leave the conference energized and equipped to embrace "The Mission of the Eucharist" in your local communities. Together, we'll explore how to gather, unite, and send forth with renewed purpose. Join us for this extraordinary opportunity to grow in faith, expand your understanding of mission, and connect with fellow passionate individuals. Let's embark on this journey of discovery and renewal together!
