Half of humanity didn’t vanish during Jesus’ time on earth. Let’s imagine the women—then and now--of untold stories, and see him through their lens. In medieval times, the arts were “porta coeli” or gate of heaven, through which God touched humanity and humans reached towards God. If other prayer forms have grown tired, let’s try the arts, moving towards Catherine of Siena’s “Beauty beyond beauty, endless sea.”
