USCMA encouraged Catholics to make two decisions when they voted. First, choose the candidates they believe best represents our Catholic beliefs and values. Then decide how they are going to advocate for all Catholic beliefs and values regardless of who wins the Presidency, the Senate, and the House of Representatives.
The election has created a tremendous amount of interest and, in some places, raised anxieties and worries about personal safety, their social circles, and prospects for the future.
This gathering is just a time to come together and debrief this historic election – give voice to our thoughts and feelings, support one another as we navigate the challenges of the day, and ponder responsibilities as Catholics & Citizens for the next four years. Here is an outline for our meeting.
Don McCrabb, the USCMA Executive Director, will moderate the conversation. USCMA welcomes volunteers to focus various parts of the conversation. Contact Don ([email protected]) to explore possibilities.
Special Guest: Meghan Goodwin, is Associate Director of Government Relations for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. She serves as the lead manager of legislative affairs relating to foreign policy and domestic social development, which encompasses health care, care for creation, criminal justice, and other poverty-related areas. She has spoken at diocesan, state, and national levels alongside Catholic bishops and other faith leaders on areas of concern to the U.S. Bishops and the Holy See
