The US Catholic Mission Association (USCMA) invites all those committed to global and intercultural mission, service and solidarity with the poor and marginalized or advocacy grounded in Catholic Social Teaching to our 2024 Conference, The Mission of the Eucharist: Gather. Unite. Send. As the National Eucharistic Revival enters its missionary year and the Church looks ahead to the Jubilee Year of 2025, this is a critical and life-giving opportunity to reflect and discern together how we are called to embody, share and invite others in the mission of Jesus today. Held at the Pallottine retreat center just outside St. Louis, the conference offers people on mission a rare opportunity to gather and network with other mission-minded organizations, congregations and individuals from throughout the United States. Participants include lay leaders, ministers and volunteers serving in their parish and community contexts, as well priests, religious, and sisters from around the world who are live and serve in the United States.
Robert Ellsberg, author and publisher of Orbis Books, will reflect on the life and witness of Servant of God Dorothy Day, whose work to accompany, serve and advocate alongside the poor and vulnerable flowed from and to a rich liturgical and sacramental life. Diane Huggins, president of the board of directors for the Parish Twinning Program of the Americas, will discuss the interplay between Eucharistic Adoration and global solidarity. Father Abdon Rwandekwe, SJ, will reflect on the Eucharist, mission and reconciliation from both his academic and ministerial expertise as well as his experiences as a survivor of the Rwandan genocide. Archbishop Rozanski of St. Louis will celebrate Mass with us on Wednesday, October 30. The conference will be facilitated by Anne Marie and John Hansen, gifted missionaries with experience leading Conversations in the Spirit. Evening events include Social Hours and Eucharistic Adoration.
Pallottine Retreat and Conference Center offers a restful, country setting but it is situated near I-70 and just 20 minutes from the St. Louis airport, Lambert International. Registration is available for single or double rooms, and for commuters who live nearby or prefer a hotel. Meals and social hours are included in all registrations.
