Hi, my name is Kevin Foy. I'm the Executive Director of the US Catholic Mission Association here to invite all of our USCMA members, our partners and really anyone who's involved or even just interested in proclaiming and witnessing the love of God as missionary disciples to our 2024 USCMA conference. We'll be gathering outside St Louis on October 29th through 31st. The theme of our conference is the Mission of the Eucharist: Gather. Unite. Send.
You know, as the national Eucharistic Revival continues in the United States and the entire church looks ahead to the Jubilee Year of 2025, our world is suffering: war and global conflict, poverty and inequality, environmental destruction and degradation, and polarization which make solutions to these problems seem further and further out of reach.
This is a critical moment to gather together, not only drawing closer to the mystery of the Eucharist but through this mystery really discerning how are we called right now to embody, to share, to invite others, into the mission of Jesus today, whether that's intercultural and international solidarity and partnership, service which truly lifts up and affirms the dignity of all people, or pastoral ministry especially among the poor and vulnerable and in those remote and underserved regions of our world.
We want to gather together. We want to reflect and discern. Where is the spirit leading all of us? Where is the spirit leading our church and our world in these times, which are difficult, they're challenging, they're complex, heartbreaking even, but also full of hope and full of spirit and full of joy as all things under God are.
You can learn more about the gathering at our website. You'll see registration information, more information on speakers and what we're doing. I really look forward to seeing you hopefully outside St Louis in October
